Handover Update April 2026

Following the Final Inspection in March, the Vale of White Horse District Council (VWHDC) have issued a Final Completion Certificate, dated 27th March 2026.

Bloor Homes have been given a new maintenance period until 27th March 2027, during which time they are expected to make regular inspections and maintain the Public Open Space (POS).

Thereafter, the developer “should“ offer to the Management Company (ManCo) the opportunity to transfer the land from the developer to the ManCo. This does not stop the developer from transferring the land ahead of the end of the maintenance period.

Practically, what this means for us is that we may now be in a position to take control of the Management Company so that we can control the timing of the land transfer and then begin to manage the POS with a new management agent once the Maintenance Period expires.

In order to do this we will need to convene an Emergency General Meeting (EGM) where we can provide a full update on where we are, elect resident directors and to remove the existing developer-appointed directors.

This will give us, the residents of The Dovecote, control over the future of our POS. The EGM is likely to be called within the next 2-3 weeks, likely a weekday evening starting at around 7pm. Our plan is to allow proxy voting, as we understand that everyone is busy and may have childcare commitments.

Please watch this space for the notice and reply to our Facebook Poll with whether you think you may attend.

Update on Little Smiths Farm Estate Planning Application Update (P25/V0180/O)

Following our update last month, we have had our Rule 6 Status for the appeal P25-V0180O-DRT approved. This means that we have been accepted as an interested party for the planning application inquiry. This is good for our community as it means that we can collate our arguments, to be presented during the appeal.

What We need From You
