Just had a call with our Bloor Adoption Manager. Key points:
- East Midland Landscaping (EML) will be on site next week doing various final works on the Public Open Space (POS) including seeding and clearance. This will include adding topsoil and seeding of the play area. THIS MEANS THE PLAY AREA WILL BE NOT BE AVAILABLE.
- The Bloor Adoption Manager has seen that the fencing has been taken down. He is not proposing to reinstate this fencing, but EML will be looking at adding locks to the gates. Clearly this won’t stop residents jumping over the wooden fence, but it’s in our interests to help protect the newly seeded grass. This will lead to a better play area in the long run.
- EML will also deal with some sharp edges to the chains on the swing seat in the play area and will improve the gate catches, so that the gates actually close and stay closed.
- EML will also treat the weeds that are in evidence on the roads and kerbing. They will return to remove the existing weeds.
- ECL will also be on site next week dealing with snagging issues on the roads – this will carry on into Sep. There may be some traffic issues but they will work with residents ensuring we are not adversely impacted.
- The old ECL storage area in the land between Furlongs and Plough Lane will not be cleared until sometime in Sep.
- The first inspection of the POS with VWHDC will be delayed until Oct.
- The Bloor Adoption Manager has offered to meet us (face to face) on a quarterly basis to talk through progress and outstanding issues. This is a welcome step forward.
The Bloor Adoption Manager reaffirmed Bloor’s intention on meeting its obligations. We have complete faith in him – he’s a guy of integrity but we suspect he is constrained by Bloor senior management.
That’s it for now. Happy to answer any questions.
