Update on FirstPort Service Charges and Soha

Just had a call with the Soha Finance Manager who has just received invoices from FirstPort for all of their properties on site. She will not be paying these invoices until they have their questions answered and she’s happy to liaise with the residents to provide a co-ordinated approach. Soha are working with FirstPort on 6 other estates, so they carry some weight when it comes to negotiations.

She did warn about FirstPort being very quick to slap on charges for late payment if there is not a clear dispute process underway. We have already challenged FirstPort, requesting additional time to pay so that we can explore the charges being imposed.

As soon as she gets a response back from FirstPort she intends on ringing me so that we can put together an action plan.

We also asked about whether the residents might be able to take advantage of their inhouse solicitor function, in order that we can get some free legal advice. She will pass on the request, so we will see where that goes.
