Timeline for the Big Vote

The RA has prepared lots of information to help residents make the right decision for them when it comes to the Big Vote. We can now confirm the timeline for voting!

  • Zoom Open Forums: Thu 26 Oct 2023 @7pm and Sat 28 Oct 2023 @3pm.
  • Voting Starts: Mon 30 Oct 2023 @06:00.
  • Voting Ends: Fri 03 Nov 2023 @22:00.
  • Voting Check Finishes: Tue 07 Nov 2023 @18:00.
  • Publish Result: Fri 10 Nov 2023 @18:00.

The actual question has been finalised as well. We needed to make this really specific, so that there is no ambiguity as to what it means. This is the question that everyone will be voting on:

Do you want Bloor to hand over the Public Open Space to a residents-controlled Management Company without any involvement of FirstPort?

A link to the voting process will be published on Mon 30 Oct 2023 @ 06:00.

The RA will (politely) follow up at properties that appear not to have voted. We will NOT be encouraging residents to vote one way or the other, but we will try and make it as simple as possible for voters to post their votes.

Remember that if residents don’t vote, their views will simply NOT be taken into account, so it’s in everyone’s interests to vote.

The RA simply needs a majority in favour of the motion (i.e. the question being posed).

UPDATE:

There will be the option for residents to submit a paper vote to ensure we are as inclusive as we can be. In order to opt-in to a paper vote, please get in contact with the RA either through the Facebook Group, our email address (if you know it) or through our Contact form.
