Interestingly, they are a member of The Property Ombudsman service (TPO). Details of the TPO fees can be found here: https://www.tpos.co.uk/…/forms/TPOE39-20-SectionA.pdf.
Not only does FirstPort pay a membership fee each year, but they have a fair usage limit of 3 complaints that can be referred to the TPO free of change. Any complaints in excess of 3 that are referred to the TPO incur a cost to FirstPort. Each full review appears to cost £350+VAT (or so).
I’d politely suggest that might be a good bargaining chip in any negotiation with FirstPort. We have 140 properties on this development. 140 individual complaints all referred to the TPO might be a fairly expensive undertaking for FirstPort. So expensive that it may sway them into agreeing to a financial settlement before we get to that point.
