Item 1 – Weeding
Weeding needs to be undertaken all around the POS. Specifically, around the playground, but it’s fair to say that no weeding has been undertaken anywhere on the development in the past two years.

Item 2 – Balancing Ponds
The Balancing Ponds need to be cleared of all weeds/plants which have now firmly taken hold. Residents were advised that this was to be undertaken twice every year. No evidence of that happening in recent times.

Item 3 – Plants Growing Against Fences
There are plants growing alongside residents’ fences in the Public Open Space which is now causing problems.

No evidence of any improvement as yet.
Item 4 – Weed Killer Needs to be Sprayed on the Roads
Weed killer needs to be sprayed on the roads, specifically the block paved roads on the development, where weeds are growing in between the blocks.

No evidence of any improvement as yet.
Item 5 – Reduced Scope of Grass Cutting
I understand that Green and Growing have been asked by Bloor Homes to reduce the scope of the grass cutting in specific areas. This includes just inside the low wooden rails around the balancing ponds. This work needs to be restarted and undertaken on every visit.

No evidence of any change as yet.
Item 6 – Dead Tree
There is a tree at the entrance to the estate, directly opposite 3 Furlongs, which is now dead. This needs to be removed on the basis that it will become a danger to the houses surrounding it. This is the responsibility of the landowner and that remains Bloor Homes at this time. There may be a number of other large trees that have also died on the development – these need dealing with as well.

No evidence of any change as yet.
Item 7 – Horse Chestnut Tree
A new tree has been planted near to the dead tree at the entrance to the development, very close to the road. We believe this is a horse chestnut, which is likely to grow to a significant size. This tree needs to be moved further away from the road. The roots are invasive and can break up pavements and roads.

Thank you Nigel for keeping us updated. And I’m sure this will need to continue with whatever company takes over otherwise we will end up living in an unkempt mess instead of being in a beautiful environment.By David Lake on September 22, 2023 at 9:45 am
Nothing has been done with the willows in the Lammas Land balancing pond. These are growing fast.
