The last Public Open Space (POS) Pre-Inspection meeting was held on 1st March 2022. This included reps from Bloor Homes, Vale of White Horse District Council (VWHDC), East Midlands Landscaping (EML) and TDRA. But since then, very little has happened.
This article provides an update on the handover process, including next steps.
We have summarised the Key Points for those who just want the headlines and for those that would like to read a little more, head to our In-Depth Analysis.
Key Points
- Two previous “Pre-Inspection” meetings have been held: one on Tue 12th Oct 2021 and the last one on Tue 1st March 2022.
- Since the last meeting in March 2022, VWHDC has not had any resource available to move things forward, so no progress has been made.
- During this time, Bloor Homes has undertaken some items of work that were outstanding, but they were not prepared to complete all outstanding works, with VWHDC not being able to inspect and sign off this work.
- TDRA has made contact with VWHDC and they have now made resource available to progress the outstanding works.
- The next onsite meeting is scheduled for Mon 2nd Oct 2023.
In-Depth Analysis
Two previous “Pre-Inspection” meetings have been held: one on Tue 12/10/2021 and the last one on 01/03/2022. Both were constructive, although it’s worth being aware that TDRA was the only party that made a note of proposals/decisions and actions.
TDRA notes were offered to all parties to act as a formal record of these meetings, but it was deemed that the formal record of these meetings should be issued by VWHDC. None were issued.
TDRA has been requesting updates from VWHDC (through our local councillor) and in the past month or so, some positive feedback was received about VWHDC being ready to restart work.
The next onsite meeting is scheduled for Mon 2nd Oct 2023, to which the same attendees have been invited to attend. TDRA will use the latest snagging list to feed into this meeting.
The actions placed at the next meeting are likely to drive the sign off criteria for VWHDC issuing Bloor a Certificate of Practical Completion. So this could be a significant step forward as part of the handover process.
