Bin Collections

We have a copy of the waste collection calendar for 2023-2024. This shows which bins are scheduled for collection each week during the year. You can also access the this online at the VWHDC’s website.

There’s also a second page which shows the tweaks to deal with bank holidays.

Key point to note is that our normal collection day is a Wednesday!

You can also use the Bin Zone app, which a lot of residents find really easy to use.

Local Businesses/Community Facilities

For new residents, it’s worth being aware that Drayton has a few very useful businesses and community facilities!

• The Red Lion – located at 3 Abingdon Road, just north of The Green, run by some of our Dovecote residents!
• Drayton Post Office – located at 9 The Green and has recently been refurbished. It sells some basic groceries and a post office.
• A.L. Vickery & Son – located at 5 The Green. It sells all sorts of hardware including house number plates, key cutting, screws, nails and all the normal tools. It also sells some homewares as well.
• The Wheatsheaf – located on The Green.
• Dane’s Convenience Store and Newsagent – located at 40 Abingdon Road.
• St Peter’s Church – an Anglican Church located on Church Lane, just off the High Street.
